Manitoba licenses one online gambling site, PlayNow.com, run by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL). This page explains what that means for every other gambling site advertised to Manitobans.
PlayNow.com
PlayNow.com is Manitoba's own legal gambling site, run by MBLL. It launched in the province in January 2013, with BCLC as its platform provider and partner. The site carries online casino games, lottery and sports betting, plus poker, bingo and live-dealer casino games.
Player tools include time and deposit limits, a short-term lockout and session reminders. Player-health specialists answer by phone and live chat.
The regulator's Know My Limits campaign says PlayNow.com is the only gambling site licensed in Manitoba. MBLL puts it in its own words: PlayNow is the only legal online gambling site authorized to operate in Manitoba. Provinces hold the exclusive right to conduct and manage gaming, MBLL says, and that right covers online gaming.
Everything else
Most gambling sites advertised to Manitobans are not regulated in Manitoba, the LGCA says. The regulator also says it cannot make an unregulated site follow Manitoba law. For a player, that could mean trouble, for example a win that is never paid. An ad for a gambling site does not mean the site is legal.
On May 26, 2025, the Court of King's Bench of Manitoba ruled on the offshore site Bodog. It found that Bodog had no lawful authority to offer or advertise online gambling to people in Manitoba. That was contrary to Criminal Code ss 201, 202 and 206. The court ordered the site to geo-block Manitoba, and MBLL brought the application for the Canadian Lottery Coalition.
Age matters here as well. Regulator research says people aged 18 to 24, especially males, are at higher risk of gambling harm. They are also more likely to use unregulated sites.
Manitoba's casinos and online play
In January 2024, MBLL warned about a fake Club Regent Casino app. Club Regent and McPhillips Station offer no mobile app and no online gaming. Points on the Casinos of Winnipeg Club Card cannot be used on PlayNow.com either.
Sand Hills Casino says it does not offer online gambling. It calls online pages or ads that use its name scams, and says the only legitimate online gambling in Manitoba is PlayNow Manitoba. Aseneskak Casino's official site is aseneskak.com.
Stopping online
On PlayNow, self-exclusion sits under My Account > Self-Exclusion. The account is cancelled and the balance paid out. MBLL Voluntary Self-Exclusion (VSE) can block PlayNow as well: in-person VSE covers it along with the province-run casinos in Winnipeg, while online VSE covers PlayNow.com only.
The Gambling Helpline, 1-800-463-1554, answers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It is free and confidential.
About this guide
This guide is independent: it is not a casino, takes no bets and has no accounts. Paid links appear only on the home page, each marked Ad, and all lead to the same third-party online casino site. That site is not licensed in Manitoba. The guide earns a commission, and the partner can change. This page carries no paid link.
Facts here were checked on October 7, 2026, against official sources. PlayNow's own pages could not be read that day, so the PlayNow facts come from MBLL pages.
Questions
Is online gambling legal in Manitoba?
PlayNow.com, run by MBLL, is the only gambling site licensed in Manitoba. The LGCA says most other sites advertised to Manitobans are not regulated here. An ad does not make a site legal.
Can you gamble online with Club Regent or Sand Hills?
Neither one offers it. Club Regent has no mobile app and no online gaming, and MBLL warned about a fake Club Regent app in January 2024. Sand Hills says it does not offer online gambling and calls online pages or ads using its name scams.
What age is PlayNow for?
Manitoba's legal age for gambling is 18. Under provincial law, minors must not take part in provincial gaming, and PlayNow is the province's own site, run by MBLL.
